Apprenticeships in Wisconsin
Registered apprenticeship offers numerous benefits to both employers and jobseekers. Apprenticeship is post-secondary education like a college or university. But there's a big difference. Apprentices learn only a portion of their skills in a traditional classroom. They receive most of their training on-the-job, while working for an employer who pays a good wage. The employment is the primary requirement for an apprenticeship - a job must exist for the apprentice to be trained. The classroom instruction is usually provided through the Wisconsin Technical College system or local training centers.

Message from Rep. Gwen Moore
Every year, members of congress have the distinct privilege of helping choose the next leaders of our great nation’s armed forces from their congressional districts. It is a tremendous honor to have the opportunity to nominate students from the 4th Congressional District to the service academies, and it is a responsibility I take very seriously.
I invite students to visit the newly updated Service Academy page on my website. This page provides students with information on the Academies, the nomination process, and links to the nomination packets for students to download. My page also includes videos and links from each academy with information on how graduation from these academies will create opportunities and open doors for the rest of their lives.
The Service Academy page can be found using this link, Service Academy Nominations | U.S. Congresswoman Gwen Moore (house.gov).
The US Naval Academy holds its world-class Summer STEM Camp and Summer Seminar each June: Summer STEM (https://www.usna.edu/Admissions/Programs/STEM.php) is for current 8th, 9th and 10th graders, while Summer Seminar (https://www.usna.edu/Admissions/Programs/NASS.php) is for current 11th graders.
There is a fee associated with each - but we have scholarships available (depending on the family's individual circumstances). The fee includes USNA apparel and program materials.

ROTC Programs in Wisconsin
Interested in receiving military training and experience while in college? Looking for ways to fund your education?
ROTC may be the answer. ROTC programs offer college courses for their members. You can register for these courses–or withdraw from them–as you would with other courses on campus, unless you’ve committed to a particular military branch in writing. If you join one of the ROTC programs described below, you’re also eligible for scholarships and monthly stipends to help with tuition, housing, books, and other educational expenses.
