South Milwaukee High School is a comprehensive four-year public high-school with an enrollment of 950 students and faculty 72 teachers and 29 support staff. Currently 64% of the staff have masters degrees or beyond.
The school is located within the City of South Milwaukee. The school district has one high school, one middle school, and four elementary schools. The city of South Milwaukee is located in the southeast corner of Milwaukee County on the shore of Lake Michigan. The population, which has remained constant over the past 30 years, is 21,000. Several industries are located within the city including Caterpillar International. Approximately 69% of the homes are owner occupied.

Class Rank for the Class of 2024
Each student must earn a minimum of 25 in four years. The credits must include 4 credits in English, 3 credits of Science, 3 credits of Social Studies, 3 credits in Mathematics, 1.5 credits in Physical Education, .5 credit in Health and .5 credit in Career Education. Grade point averages are computed using all subjects, except teacher aide. Courses are not weighted in computer the grade point average.

A variety of work experience programs are offered in cooperation with area business and industry.
