South Milwaukee High School is rich with tradition! Along with all the fine academic instructions our students receive in their core academic subjects, students have the opportunity to follow their passions in to college or university or through the Career and Technology fields like nursing, construction, and business that include youth apprenticeship opportunities that often lead right into rewarding careers after graduation. The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Cold Warning for Friday, January 23, 2026. We wanted our community to have as much notice as possible, so we are sending this notification now.
School will be closed on Friday, January 23, 2026.

Regular attendance is important to success in school and we expect that when school is in session, students are engaged in learning. However, because we live in Wisconsin and our winter weather is unpredictable, the School District of South Milwaukee has established the following guidelines for decisions related to inclement weather. Registration for fall 2026 4K classes begins on January 12.

The South Milwaukee and Cudahy school districts have entered into a preliminary agreement to explore a potential offer to purchase the building that was the former YMCA facility at 3244 E. College Avenue in Cudahy. The Districts’ goal is to transform it into a shared South Shore Community Recreation Center.

South Milwaukee's own Nate Snead was drafted in the third round of the Major League Baseball Draft on Sunday night. Snead ('22) was instrumental in the 2024 Tenessee Vol's College World Series Champion Team. Snead is the highest draft result an SM Alum has ever achieved.
